Derek is the Head of Marketing and Operations at Social Architect. His experience as a management consultant and business education allow him to bring an exceptional business acumen to the team. At Deloitte, Derek helped implement continuous improvement programs for Fortune 500 companies and is excited to apply this knowledge to Social Architect. As an experienced process engineer, Derek is always spotting opportunities to streamline and optimize business processes.
At Social Architect Derek focuses on opening up additional marketing channels and avenues as well as preparing the business with the right people, processes and technology to scale quickly. Derek knows that quality human connection, not only in work but in life is one of the keys to lifelong happiness. He is energized by helping individuals businesses understand the power of Social Connection and Authentic Relating.
Derek is also an accomplished amateur musician. He has studied music for over 20 years, brings experience teaching piano, guitar and drums and has performed in a variety of settings from intimate weddings to on stage at Disneyland. Chris is the Head of Product at Social Architect. Coming from a diverse background of engineering and creative design projects, Chris brings a challenging new perspective to the business world. At Social Architect, he is dedicated to creating rich customer experiences that help reshape the paradigm of modern day work.
From large enterprises to small scale startups, Chris has practice leading technical teams to achieve high output productivity. The last company he worked for doubled in size and revenue in the time Chris spent working on the product.
Chris is a strong believer in the power of authenticity and effective communication, both of which are reflected in the way he structures and supports the teams he builds. In his spare time, Chris enjoys facilitating circles and authentic relating games to continue improving his relational and communication skills.
KYLA SOKOLL-WARD | Facilitator | San Francisco, USA
Kyla Sokoll-Ward is a speaker, facilitator, and professional community builder who speaks about loneliness in the millennial generation and how emotional experiences can be used as tools for connection. She has shared her message internationally, on multiple TEDx stages, and has facilitated connective experiences for thousands of young adults around the world.
Kyla’s work aims to help millennials upgrade their empathy skill set, ask better questions, and get more curious about what it means to be human. She has interviewed dozens of millennials about their experiences with connection and loneliness and uses this data to inform her content.
Through keynotes, workshops, and 1:1 mentorship, she aims to disrupt the status quo of connection by challenging others to communicate more intentionally, vulnerably, and empathically. She’s a firm believer that we’re only one good question away from connecting with the entire world.
